Free, Configurable Ceramic Mate Cup Template to Print
Moldea generates a two-section template for a mate cup (yerba mate gourd), with the rounded belly typical of a traditional mate: adjust the base, belly and rim independently, then download a ready-to-print pattern at true 1:1 scale.
A rounded-profile mate cup, smaller than a vase or teapot — built for thicker walls, typical of a mate used daily. Defaults: 40mm base, 78mm belly, 32mm rim, with 55mm of height in the lower section and 35mm in the upper (90mm total).
How to use the template
Open the tool with the mate cup already selected and adjust base, belly and rim with the sliders.
Check the 3D preview — the belly is what gives it the characteristic rounded shape; the bigger it is relative to the base and rim, the more pronounced.
Print both sections at true 1:1 scale (with the 100×100mm calibration square) or download the SVG.
Cut both sections, join each along its straight edge, and glue the two halves together at the belly. Leave the wall a bit thicker than a mug's so it holds up to daily use.

What size is the mate cup by default?
40mm base, 78mm belly and 32mm rim, 90mm tall in total — all adjustable if you want it bigger or smaller.
Why is the rim narrower than the belly?
That's the traditional mate shape: the wide belly holds the hot water and the narrow rim helps keep the yerba in place instead of spilling.
Can I make the walls thicker?
Yes — Moldea calculates the pattern development from your diameters; wall thickness comes from how you work the clay slab, not from the pattern itself.
